    JJ - You're right on the pilots - my bad. I can tell you this though - my '79 has the same carbs (even have an E stamped on the bottom) jetted with 145 mains and 45 pilots (air jets are stock) and it will idle down to 200 rpms without cutting out and will push past 9500 rpms. I get bunson blue flame on all four cylinders. Garth already has the pod filters. I only went up one pilot jet size when I did mine, and it wasn't idling well. I went to the 45 pilots and the problems went away.

    I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
