I switched from Gel grips to a pair of Grand turismo grips. Fatter in the middle tapered to the ends and ribbed for my pleasure. plus they have a kick out at the pinkie side so your hand does not slide that way. I used hair spray and compressed air. small hole in the end of the grip air gun in the hole and hair spray to make it all slide.

Cool Tom,
I actually bought them at a local Yamaha dealership, there are quite a few dealers (not just Yamaha dealers) that are carrying the Kuryakyn brand. They are also available from-
www.shadetreepowersports.com
They run around $60.00 a set and come with the proper adhesive to install them along with very detailed instructions. Like I said before, pricey but WELL worth the money!! Right grip is slightly larger than the left one (inside dimension only) to compensate for the throttle insert involved on the right side, made the job very easy. As a plus, they are very nice looking, I get a LOT of comment on them!
Here is another view of them- -

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

Forgot to mention, they are called ISO grips. Stands for isolation grips, they do a teriffic job of cutting down any vibration. Have not had a numb hand since I installed them. The Old Tamer
