Does any one know Where and what size of handlebars to get for a 79 xs11 standard. close to original
    1979 xs 11 Standard

Any 7/8" bar will work. I got mine at Z1 for $20 (LTD emgo). Not an exact replacement, but close. Mine were 5.5" center width, but the ones they have now show 4.5" which would be a little close. Might be worth a phone call.

I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

      Hey Fellow Okie!

I got mine from MikesXS.com. They have a ton of different styles to choose from and they are all pretty affordable.

      Here's a link ---> MikesXS
      1979 XS11 Special (slightly modified)
      dubbed the "Mad Mosquito"

      MikesXs Pod Filters
      MikesXs 35k Coils
      8mm plug wires
      42.5 Pilots 142.5 Mains
      (Carb tune by GNEPIG Performance)
      Kerker 4-into-1
      Shaved emblems
      Progressive frt springs lowered 1.5"
      Progressive 11.5" rear shocks
      Harley Dyna rear fender chopped
Custm side mt tag (apparently illegal)
      Custom Dual Headlights
Lots of time and hard work.

Da-Bubble - Boy where you right about Mike's XS. Nice selection, good price. Now you've got me thinking about changing bars.

They are really nice too. I first ordered a set of "superbike" bars but they didn't feel right so they let me exchange them for the "street tracker" bars which I love!
