Up behind the speedo head is a knurled fitting on the end of the speedo cable. You should be able to unscrew this by hand, a pair of pliers may be needed in worst case.

At the front wheel end there is a tab with a hole in it that holds the cable into the drive. The bolt that holds this in place takes a 10mm wrench. Remove the bolt and the cable slides out. There is also a wire guide that can be removed to make the removal easier, also uses a 10mm wrench.

Once you have both ends unhooked the cable will drop out of the back of the speedo unit, just give it a pull to remove it.

I just replaced my cable the other day. With the use of some WD40, it was relatively simple. If I can do it, anyone can!
