I just installed a K&N stage 1 jet kit on my 1980 Special.
In the kit there were new needles with the grooves (unlike the non-adjustable stock needles).
The instructions in the kit said to use the #2 groove on the needle. It was not clear if that was counting down from the top, or up from the bottom.
Anyone want to clarify for me?
It seems to be running rich, and is a bear to start when cold.
I am about to go check the mixture (colortune), but I can't help wondering if the needle is not set right to begin with.
Thanks,
Mike
