    hey i bought a 79 xs1100 off my buddy it has been sitting for 5 years and we are in the process of rebuilding but we have no spark in any of the wires any suggestion on where to start thank you

    Welcome to the site.
    If you go to the MAIN page, and read down the list, you will see a thread about fixing old bikes. This is about the old XS1100s that have been sitting for a while. The other thing you can do is use the search feature, and put in "spark" to see what will show up.
    You will probably find that the pick-up coil wires are broken internally, and need to be fixed. The second cause would be the TCI box. You may need to pull the cover, and re-solder all the connectors onto the PC board.

      If not what DiverRay says would check that the coils are getting power. Not a bad idea to just clean ALL the electrical connectors/grounds, takes a few hours but can eliminate a few possible problems. (fuse box too)

        thanks for the advice all it was, was the ignition box pulled the plugs out and sprayed in the box and connectors and now she is working fine next task is the carbs and i dont have any pics yet hopefully soon
