    Hey Gurus,

Kind of a random question but how interchangeable are the 79 special rotors, calipers, and pads with an 80g?

    Is there a difference?

    Thanks!

Specials and standard have different forks. They also take different calipers that mound very differently. So, they really aren't without a fork swap or modification.

Rotors will interchange. Rear brakes are entirely interchangable. Calipers and pads do not interchange between Specials and standards.

As a point of interest, the 80 G front brakes will interchange with the front brakes on the XS650D and later. (1977 & newer)
