    Reduced trail XS1100 Special

I have an XS1100 special that I use as a sidecar tug and wanted to try a reduced trail hydraulic front end before I went to all the work of uilding a leading link front end for it. I have a set of Standard trees and forks and was curious what combination woudl give the least trail. Special forks and trees? Standard forks and trees? Standard forks in special trees? Standart trees with Special forks?
I tried to doodle it all out on paper and was not able to pin it down. Suggestions appreciated.

      Standard trees with Special forks?

      Hi Lunatic,
that one. It moves the front wheel forward approximately 2". To fit the Special's headlamp ears into the Standard 'trees you will have to saw the ears a little shorter. If you have the Standard headlamp ears as well as the rest of the Standard fork they may well fit without having to cut anything. What sidecar are you fitting? BTW, you may want to sign up with the sidecar group SCT.

Its my same old sidecar that I built a few years ago and have been running with the Special front end on. I'll be making a leading link front end for it, but in the meanwhile I might as well optimise the hydraulic front end. Thanks for the help Fred!
