79F Stone stocker and former daily driver, sold May '10 now converting for N.O. to cafe style 79SF eventually dismantled for parts 79F Bought almost new in 80, sold for a house 79F The Ernie bike sold to a Navy dude summer 08 79SF Squared-off Special, Vetter/Bates tour pkg., Mikes XS coils, G rear fender and tail light. Sold June 09
Changed oil last night. Had to fight with the 4-1 Jardin to get the filter back in. Decided to loosen the Jardin up a bit to help. I always had a bit of a problem with the Jardin leaking at the slip on fit where the pipes meet the collector. Now I don't!!!!!!!
The bike fires immediatley, starter maybe turns it twice. I only need the choke for a few seconds and then it idles sweet. I can even give it throttle within seconds (no hesitation)
I let it run for a bit. I have not noticed any leaks yet! Will keep my fingers crossed.
Now all I have to do is another quick carb sync, change middle and rear oil, change rubber (front and rear), check and lube wheel bearings while I'm at it, and I should be good for the road again.
Thanks to all.
Ernie
