  • xs650 parts on an xs11?

    Hey all,

I was looking on MikesXS.com for some random parts, and wanted to know if anybody knew if the speedo cable is interchangeable between the two?

Also, when taking apart my carbs...I was FINALLY able to get one of the screws out to take out the diaphram and found the needle tip was bent slightly. Does anybody know if any of the needles will work with my 80g carbs?

    Thanks gang!

    Too short

    Hi Austin,
the XS650 speedo cable ain't long enough
and if you are fitting or already have the XS11Special front forks the XS650 cable bottom end fitting is all wrong too. No sweat, Dennis Kirk carry the XS11 Special speedo cable for ~ $16.
The appropriate year XS650 carb needle should fit. Apart from some body casting differences it looks to be the same carb.
BTW, LED brakes?????????? Must be retardation by photon pressure, right?

      From MikesXS.com
      Jet Needle - 5HX12 - Fits:XS650G/H/SH/SJ/SK/SL (1980-84) stock Mikuni BS34
      CV Carbs.

Yamaha Manual shows the needle jet to be 5lZ7 for the G and a 5GL16 for the SG. Think would try getting the right one from sudco or motorcyclecarbs.

Was going to post a link from "favorites" but just checked and there not working

        Er?

Ok...So Fred...I can get the speedo cable from your source. Great! The part with the threads was broken on mine so there's no way to re-attach it.

As for the needle...go to Sudko then? The other place's site is down. And for sure, the one on MikesXS won't work? I'm trying to save money on shipping and time for the handling of it all.

I wonder how it got bent to begin with...

Thanks for all the help you all!
