Just as well I checked the e-mail TC sent me - and reversed the wires I'd put on the coils the wrong way round red/white to -ve; oops!!
Really should pay more attention.

Tkat brace, new coils/wires/plugs, refurbed carbs (thanks 81 xsproject), recon'd top end, windshield (thanks dpotter58), resprayed tank and panels, 4-1 exhaust, sweet xs pod filters, in line fuel filters, progressive springs, thick hand grips, jumped headlight relay.
Is it running now, Sip? I am dying with antisipation for you to get to run those carbs. As I learn more with my new AEM wideband controller I may be able to adivse you on bettter carb settings. I too have the mikes "XS" pod filters now. Currently I am questioning the one size up pilot you and I have as my 3-5k rpm is very rich.
Not yet - the guy spraying my tank is having a nightmare. I stripped it to bare metal in an acid bath, then a rad shop treated the inside and stuck it in the boil tank, the he chemically wiped it before spraying - should be all good right?
First two coats of primer cracked and then the first coat of top coat cracked - I'm waiting to hear this morning whether he got it sorted this weekend.
Am considering setting up a bottle with some petrol in it just to see if it'll run, also how the hell did you set up the fuel lines and filter so the it's all down hill gravity fed? My filter and "y" connectors are about 3" long and it always ends up tilted down at one end.

As long as the filter is mostly vertical and in the right flow direction, it doesn't matter too much. I set my filter up with enough hose to be behind the pods and then the line runs back up to the fuel T's. It doesn't ALL have to be down hill as pressure is created only by the difference in height between the surface of the fuel in the tank and the carb inlet.
