  • wiring troubles!

I was wondering if the park light (on the tail light ) and the horns on my 82xj11 ran off the same fuse? My brake lights are fine, bulbs good, but no park light or horn. The wiring has been "modified" so I can't to fuse panel. I haven't had the tank off, is there any fuses or connections under it that would control that? Thanks again.

    Hey Conky,

From what I can tell from the XJ's wiring diagram is that the BLUE dash light wires come off of a tap from the Red/Yellow wire that comes from the headlight fuse! I can't follow the blue/white wire for the tail light any farther than to the computer display? The tail lights on the XS's and the dash lights are on the same circuit, so....I would think that the XJ is similar, but who knows with Yamaha and their electrical engineers?? HTH?

Check for connectivity across all the fuses and mounts. The glass ones can go out without out being obviously burnt out and can get oxidized and loose a connection.
