Oil filter washer??

I was reading in xs11 heaven That the correct order for the oil filter is....filter bolt, spring, then washer, then filter. I don't remember having a washer on any of my xs11's. Do you? If so is it just a metal washer to keep the spring from going up into the filter?

Yep you got the right order and that's what it's for. You can get a washer from the hardware store that fits.

Yeah, that washer usually sticks to the filter... and a lot of people toss them out together not realizing....
