  • questions about rubbers....

i know i might catch some slack for putting up a posting like this, but ya gotta admit it caught your attention and made you click to find out more....anywho, i'm looking at replacing my rear tire....my bike has a MT90 tire on it...it rides about 1/4 inch off the backside of the driveshaft housing.....has been on the bike since i got it and she's been ridden hard.....dealership has a 130/90-17 tire that matches the new front i got last year....he says supposedly it will fit, but is not sure....and he won't find out until the old tire is off and the new one about 2 be installed.....i don't want 2 take the chance of walking back from the dealership (1.5 miles) while they search the planet earth for a correct tire....can anyone tell me if they are running this size tire on their ride right now......if not, please direct me in the path of rubber righteousness.....humbly submitted....ross

the 140 WILL fit, as long as it's a blackwall. Raised White Letters WILL rub the driveshaft side of the swing arm.

is paved with all that come up against the xs11 community and say "how fast is that thing?".....i thank you all for your response and will inform the dealership that the tire will fit and put that sucker on.....but....i just might have to roast the old one on the way there.....ross

Since I take in just the wheel when I get new skins, I always "smoke" the old one to total destruction. The neighborhood kids always loved watching a bleach water induced burnout. Problem can be the hot rubber seems to weld itself to every part on the bike.
