    Fork Seals

I need to replace my fork seals. Is there one brand (manufacture) that is better than another? Also, is one material better than another? I saw on ebay that there are some made from natural rubber and others from silicone.

I'd suggest sticking with yamaha for the seals. I have not had much luck with any aftermarket. I actually just ordered a set from Bikebandit.com I believe they were $16.47 a piece. A little more than the aftermartkets, but you won't have to replace them every year.

I like the Leak-Proof brand seals. They have the standard and the pro-moly type which are both good. These you don't have to drive them in, they just slip in. A little pricey, about $25. I'e also used the Parts Unlimited brand ($9) with no problems.

When I tried to buy them at the dealer he said there were no oem available. Dunno if he is right or wrong. Went with the leak proof. They only have 500 miles or so on them. No leaks yet.

Don't buy the one's on ebay!
At least not the ones with the green cardboard package.

Get them from the dealer, even if they are aftermarket.

Then you can be sure they will fit and not leak.
