I was up late letting the dog out and logged on here and saw the RLU bypass thread, and still haven't figured out which wires to jump.....To make a long story short, I am building a headlight with 6ea 1watt LEDs and was wondering if the RLU can be left alone or do I need to get rid of it finally? I don't ride that much at night and sometimes the low headlight will go out for no reason, So I just switch to brights.....Please educate a brotha.

Hi Chop,
I fitted relays to switch my twin lamps, so that only the "trigger" current went through the switch (and the RLU...) and the unit went ape; it switched BOTH (actually all four!) filaments on, 'cos it registered the reduced current as a blown bulb; I guess your LEDs will do the same?
I just put "RLU bypass" ...or something close to it.... in the search box, and got the colours. If you are stuck, PM me; I'll go read 'em off the bike.
AlanBIf it ain't broke, modify it!
