    Radiator Shops

    DiverRay,
You live in the wrong area, around my area 2 radiator shops will do the cleaning and coating. One charges $80 and the other charges $40. I had 3 tanks cleaned and coated for $120. One is on my XJ now, the other 2 were standard tanks, one for the 78E and the other for a spare when i want to change colors. Radiator shops are alright if you want to repaint, the electrolysis is the way to go if you want to keep the paint job.
    Thanks Tom

          not all acids are equal

More than likely, the acid from Autozone was overpriced Citric Acid. The same stuff you drink when you swig on a Coke. You can by it PURE FORM ANHYDROUS from Fisher Science for 100mg that will do about 2-3 tanks for $24...the metal will be shiney as new in a 24hr period and does not harm paint. After you do the tank, dump out the liquid into a plastic bucket and put all of your rusty parts in it and they will be rust free also. And you can work with it with your bare hands, it is actually a bacteriocide. The guys over on the UK site showed pics of a rusty foot pedal set done.

You can use a 12 volt charger. Just be careful not to short it out while installing. Or actually do it the right way and set it up before you plug it in.
I couldn't not play with it while it was in the bucket. its just so cool.

Do you want it done right or do you want me to do it?
