  • Speedo Problems

Over the weekend my speedo stopped working. There was no warning (Gadge Jumping or funny noises) I took it apart and added the one from my parts bike no change. Spun the cable with my finger and it moved. Could it be the gear in the wheel? If so how hard will it be to fix?

Sounds very much like the 'clutch drive' for the speedo. That's fancy talk for the tangs in the wheel hub that mesh with the speedo drive. While you have the speedo drive off, it's easy to disassemble and lube it.

      Thanks John

I took your advice and did just that. I also checked my bulbs they weren't working. both are good. Po must have cut those wires when he bypassed the iggy switch. My new battery is about 3/4 full after the long weekend ride.. I gotta get these small issues fixed.
