  • Seat Handle problems!

I just went to install a backrest on my 82 XJ1100 and I discovered that one of the brackets was bent ( the aluminum bar that runs up the side that bolts on shock mount). I was wondering if that bar will fit off another bike other than XJ11. Please let me know. Thanks.

I think others are "Close", but I know when people try to use an XJ bar on their XS, they have to drill a bit and widen the mounting holes and the XJ's curves down a bit more at the bottom.

Depending on just where it's bent, wrap a couple layers of cloth around the bar to protect it, then use a pipe wrench to bend it back where it needs to be. It would be easier to do while mounted to the bike.... unless it's bent in between mounting holes. You could also use a vice, but again, protect it with rags.
