  • do you know these pipes?

So use to have these pipes on my bike and I have been talking with a fellow XS'er and we have beentrying to find the guard that is on the left hand pipe......we can't find it in the parts catalog....has anyone ever seen anything like this before? maybe some one added it later? check it out and let me know.

the broken thin metal guard with the black painted inserts is whats in question.....maybe its from another XS model? I don't know.

    -Thanks

Nice idea to keep passenger scuff marks off pipe...............but never was on any of the XS's in production.

If they will come off without breaking the screws, take them off and see how they are attached. See if the weld looks like factory, or you could just consider them a bonus.

The guards appear to be from a 750 Honda, 69 to early 70's vintage.

I am not even sure what brand they are.....i tried finding a stamp of etch of the maker but no luck, the only thing i did find was a 6 stamped in where the can bolts to the peg bracket.

Anyone have any ideas? The PO wasent sure what they came off either.

I mounted them last night durning the big storms that were going on, and they look great! I will snap some photos after work today.

I have a set of those that I got for $79. Have never mounted them. I think they are Mac? My bike is lowered so I'm afraid they might drag. I need to get them mounted and see! Let us know how they sound.

I noticed my clearence dropped a bit but i have about 5 inches....i will have to cross sleeping police men at an angle so both wheels hit at about the same time.

I will do a sound bite when i fire it up. I need to go and finish polishing my valve cover and change the oil and the Black Goblin will be Screaming

I don't have the one like yours mounted but here's a pic of mine with the Kerker. I don't have a good side shot showing the pipes but I just went and measured and it's 3.5" from the ground to the pipes and that's without my 300lbs sitting on it. Needless to say, it is really easy for me to scrape the pipes! The Kerker hugs the oil pan a lot closer than the Jardine (or whatever it is).

da-bubble, wow, i like those pipes. I really like the black theme going on. So how did you lower your bike? and do you enjoy the fork brace? was it worth it? I have been thinking of getting one.
