Windshield and backrest

Hey guys, I am new to this site so I was wondering if anyone could help me. I just bought a 1982 XJ1100 and I was looking to buy a windshield and backrest for it, but the only thing I can find are those big bulky windshields and I can't find a backrest at all. If anyone out there got a model number and make of a small windshield and backrest please reply to this thread. My bike has square handlebars and that is where I run into trouble buying a windshield is with the mounting kit. Thanks

As for the back rest, I've seen a pic on here where one was fab'ed at home. Looked pretty good too. Surprised no XJers have posted yet. Me...just a little XSive

windshield

My boy put one on his XJ by running the clamp bolt through the middle of the square part of the handlebars, there is a hole there already, you have to move the wires under the bars. Don't remember where the bottom fit but is was about a 15min job to put one on. His was a medium size windshield. Don't remember what the brand was either. He said before he put it on that he didn't like them, but after he got it on he loves it now, he said he doesn't have to eat so many bugs now,and keeps the wind out of his face also. You can get brackets for square bars from some companys.

I think I will go with a mid-size windshield the more I look at it the more I like it and as for the backrest I might attempt to make one myself. I'll post some pics later.
