  • float height adjusments for mods

    ok guys,i just changed my jets for the new pod filters and the 4-1 exaust......do i need to adjust my float height? and if so what to? if not what should it be?

    also should the floats be resting just on the spring? or should thy be all the way down with some extra help?

      Hey there Genius,

      Keep the floats stock for now, the jets "should" make up much of the need for extra fuel, but you can tweak them later if needed!

      They should be just sitting on the spring pin, not compressing it since the needle valve is very light and will easily ride up with the float as it floats, so you want it sealing when the fuel gets the right level...as per the guides. If you press them down to measure, then you will be setting the too low which will make them too lean!

      PS, stock height for 79SF is 25.7 +/- 1.0 mm
      The XJ is about 23mm IIRC!
