Standard tank on a special?

    Standard tank on a special?

    Do you guys know if I can put a xs11 standard tank on my 79 special and what if any mods I would have to make to do this?

      no problem, I have changed to a standard tank on my midnight special. I needed the extra range when I was living in South Africa.

          A Standard tank will bolt on with only slight differences. The seat to tank fit will be different and some rework of the fuel lines will be required (by-pass the Special’s octopus).

              one of the first things that was done to the bike was to simplify the fuel lines. I also had a the seat modified to suit my needs. I am vertically challenged. The larger tank simply fitted in place.
