  • was thinking of this kind of windshield

Will it fit my straight handlebars?
Is there a better place to get them?
Maybe in Canada so I don't have to pay that cross border tax?

I would check with some of your local motorcycle shops. They should be able to order any shield you may want, and it probably won't be much different than ebay, taxes, and shipping.

I got one for my XS1100SG but have yet to put it on. I had one much like it way back in the early 80's on my 850 Special and really liked it.

I don't know if you will have any problems with straight handle bars....couldn't tell ya. My bars then and now are stock.

        Windshield

I bough one just like it and installed it w/out problems. It works great to keep the wind off your chest on the superslab, but is not quite tall enough to keep your helmet from buffeting. I would get the next size taller for that purpose. I liked it and it was easy to install. Looks very nice on the rectangular headlamp.

Used to have one of these on my 80G.

Worked great and really appreciated the little bit of hand protection in the winter.

            Wide choices

JC Whitney had a new motorcycle catalog every bit as large as the auto one and lots of windshield choices.
