  • Where to get custom shift pedal?

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where I could look to find a shifter for my XS1100SG, '80?

What I am hoping to find is a shifter that has a pedal extension to the rear so I would have the option of lifting my toe or reaching back with my heal to shift to higher gears.

I thought I've seen these in the past, maybe on the Goldwings or something.

I have some pretty severe injuries to my left leg/ankle/foot and thought it might be more comfortable if I could find something like this.

Check ebay for floor board options for the XS1100. You may also look at some of the options for other model Yamahas, as they may fit.
Welcome to the board, and don't be afraid to ask if someone can make something up for you. I think with a little welding, it wouldn't be hard!

Thanks for the info....I search on Ebay all the time but maybe I wasn't looking in the right places. I do have a friend nearby that thought he could easily weld something on the back of the normal shifter. I just thought I would give it a try to find one that is manufactured that way.

      Again, thanks for your reply.

When I got my XS100E it had a PO modified heel/toe shifter with a heel extension welded on it. I replaced it with an OEM part. I'll look if I can find it. I don't need it.

          Hey Don,

Also in the LINKs section is a reference to the official Yamaha Online parts fiche, and IIRC some of the newer Yamaha V-twins like Roadstars and such have the heel/toe shifters, so you can look them up by year, and model and then the section for the part, like shifter, and see IF they have that feature.

However, I can't say whether the shift shaft is the same size/diameter, so I don't know whether one would slide onto the XS11 shift shaft!?

One I use (heel / toe shifter) is from a Honda 90. Heel part is a bit long for my comfort, plan to shorten it by about an inch. Bolts right up to the Yamaha shaft with no problems at all. I did install it with the toe end 1 spline lower (1 spline counter-clockwise) than stock as this gives me a better feel. This means the heel is slightly higher than the toe.
