    Saddle bags on a Special?

I just stopped-by the local leather shop to check out soft saddle bags.
It seems that with the stock turn signals on a Special, there is VERY little room for bags. The distance between the back of my thigh and the turn signal is pretty minimal. (not to mention a passenger).
Does anyone out there ride the Special with a nice set of leather bags? Did you relocate the turn signals?
    Any advice/pictures would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

You need to get one of the turn signal bars that relocate your signals to the rear (mine bolts in by the upper lic. plate bolts.) they were factory on any bike that came with bags. Special or Standard. here is a couple of picture of my bike with the factory style bags:

Are these bars still available? I have one for the XS, but need one for the Kawasaki so I can put the leather bags on that I have.

Thanks for the pics, guys. That's one more thing to add to the "wish list".
I will check e-bay, and the local salvage yard. If anyone has a partzer with these turn signal bars, I would like to talk. )

Bruce Doucette made a nice looking one out of a chrome shower curtain rod. I'm not sure how he attached everything. Maybe he'll pop in and enlighten us!

My turn signal bar is more or less identical to what Ken has mounted on "Tsunami", I used a hand towel bar that I bought from a local hardware store. The bar is kinda light and made of chrome plated aluminum, at the time I could'nt find the proper diameter in a chrome plated steel bar, I recommend using steel or brass bar plated with chrome rather than aluminum.....the wire routing is easy and the bar fastens easily to the license plate bracket....the trick is finding a bar that matches the diameter of the signal light mounts.
