Custom seat ideas?

I am looking to replace my very w i d e and ugly seat with something more modern looking that a little narrower. Have any of you cobbled any HD seats to fit your bike...like a dyna or the likes. I'm trying to find a suitable replacement without throwing a bunch a money out the window. Thanks

Travelcade Seat looked like they had two seats listed. One big and the other smaller modern looking

I ordered one from Diamond Seats. I dont care about the look so much. I want to be comfy for 8-12 hours. http://www.diamondseats.com/70s80s.htm was expensive $500 us. The Travelcades are less.

Custom seat ideas?

Get block of foam and form your own design. Have cover made at local upholstery shop. Shape foam with electric carving knife (may not be a good idea to let SWMBO know your borrowing her kitchen tools)
I did try making my own cover. Started out very nice and thought entered my mind how easy it was..then... Ran into trouble when my sewing machine could not handle three layers of vinyl.
