Right before I did my final work on the swingarm, I chopped the rear flute shaped mufflers off my 4-2s. In doing so I cut off 2 chambers (one of which was already drilled out the back to give it a little more zing, and tick the neighbors off too. My question is if I machine or buy a large washer (2.5") to insert into the tip on the right, will it be adequate enough back-pressure, silencing, non back-firing? The hole diameter (@ 1") in the left pipe comes directly out of the headers by about 4-5 inches......All Input, Criticism, Yelling and beatdowns are greatly appreciated

Just a suggestion. (No beatdowns YET! )
But since that end looks like it's going to come off and on pretty easily, start with a washer with a fairly small hole and try it. You can always enlargen the hole... tougher to shrink it. Do this until you get negative effects, then go back a step or two. I'm sure you already know, but just make sure and keep both exhausts equal. Hopefully someone will chime in that's done this though and can narrow down the hit/miss for you and save a few steps.
I think this will get you the back pressure you need, but I don't think it's going to muffle the sound any.

butterfly valve
I do recall seeing a post like that. I plan on making about a 1/4" thick resticter/washer that will slip in and not turn sideways and run a polished stainless screw through tip/pipe so as not to weld and damage the pretty chrome. That way I can unbolt and put another size restricter in. I just need to know where to start...thank for your input. So since the two headers collect into the single 1" tube, you think I should start at 3/4" exit hole?MDRNF

I haven't cranked her up since cutting the pipes off. Should I wear earplugs? Can't wait till my neighbor's pit bull comes to the fenceMDRNF

This reminds me of those MYSPACE photos, or whatever.... teenage girls taking nude pics of themselves reflected in the bathroom mirror. I loved the one where the girl should have flushed first!

Lolliepop
Some ppl call them a lolliepop, you take a big washer and weld a bolt to it drill a small hole in the bottom of your exhaust and mount the lolliepop in there with a double nut on either side of ur exhaust pipe. It will give you back preassure and quite her down a little.

poop
That yellow "poop" is from the spray foam I used to make the fiberglass mold, PROMESSWITHUS. I like MRO's idea, but will three small holes quieten her down as compared to one large one?MDRNF

I currently have the "lollipoop" in my mufflers. To be honest I am not sure it helped with back pressure. Maybe my wwahers are to big but it also did not make it any more quiet. Not really a noticable difference. maybe a little different tone to it but thats it.
Now I did have to put what you would call a silencer on My VW golf. It has a full header back exhaust w/ 1 borla mufler and was loud as piss. After installing the silencer I made it was ALOT quieter . Only real differences between the two is the ones on the bike do not fit tightly into the pipes and THere is a gap all the way around the outside of the washer. the one on the VW is actually 4 inch a piece of tubing welded horizontally through the washer.. So I am figuring , if you were to fit your piece tight into the pipe, with the smaller Dia hole it will probably have the same effect that my VW's had.
