Do you mean the ones on the face of the windshield or on the edges ? The ones on the face are pop up vents to let air into the area in front of the rider to eliminate the dead air zone in front of the rider. The wings on the edges of the windshield are to create a dead air zone in front of the rider. It sounds confusing I know, but closing the pop ups in cold weather makes for a warmer ride, because the wings on the edges direct cold air away from the rider, opening the pop ups in warmer weather has the opposite effect. The pop ups are standard Vetter vents I had installed when I had the windshield made by Swannee Co. of Milten-freewater,Or. It was just a one man business, but he was a genius with windshields, but I don't know if they are still in business anymore, they used to make all sorts of custom shields. The outer wings I ordered from J.C. Whittney Co., but I have seen them advertised elsewhere. I've had this bike for over 15 yr. and have added a lot of extras to make it suit my needs, if anyone sees something they have questions about feel free to ask, as soon as I master this picture thing I will post a link with more pics.
