I know, but there appear to be no limits to what misplaced ambition and stupidity can accomplish. Believe me, the bike I am talking about made the subject bike of this thread look GOOD.
I wish I had taken some pictures of it but didn't think anyone on this site would want to see such a sickening sight.

        Uuuuuh,
not likely here. Guess I will leave that one up to someone else that needs one a lot worse than I do. I do not think that I have ever been that hard up for transportation.

          With only 1

With only 1 modification, that thing would put out some serious moonshine!

I wonder how that header sounds? He probably put it on there so you couldn't hear the squeaks and rattles, engine knock and valve ticking, 1st gear grinding from the poor ol' bag'O'bones

said the Flapper with a sob,
I'll have two more cheeks to powder
and a lot more hair to bob."
To "bob" a motorcycle is to remove from it everything that is not absolutely essential to it being able to run down the road.
OTOH, if you saw off the rear suspension, push the forks out a yard, unhook the front brake, put ape-hanger bars and Maltese cross mirrors on it, it's a "chopper" and you may be mistaken for one of the Teutels and who'd want that?

So.. I guess the gloves have come off? It's now okay to slam someone's bike good or bad as it may be? I have typed out replies on this board "critiquing" OPB (other people bikes) only to re-read my own post and then delete my comments. Why, because each guy does what he sees in his mind and who am I to slam his bike? I seen bikes on this board that are just plain dumb but hey, keep it to myself.
                        Cheers, 50gary

Unless they are XS members... I figure all is fair! Look how the Harley's get slammed in here.. lol.

That bike could have been artfully done with a little more time and effort.. It now looks like a couple guys tied one on one weekend and welded (Poorly) some crap together that resembles something that used to be a safe rideable bike.

I'm not a fan of bobbers or choppers, but some are. The ones that are usually take the time to do a class "A" job on them and make them safe to ride. This one looks like something done in a 24 hour period for a Junkyard Wars show.

Be truthfull Gary. Have you seen ANYONE'S bike look anywhere near this bad? People's bikes do get critiqued on here, but almost everyone does it in a tastefull manner.... and some only seem to care what's in the BACKGROUND of the pic (Pro)

I would like someone to post on here that thinks the bike is cool looking, to get their point of view on it. Obviously some people do since it's always gotten decent bids... more it seems than a stock bike. So????

                            "I thought I had, TRBIG."

I thought I had commented on this bike somewhere... guess not in this thread.
I for one, to a degree, think it's cool.
A lot of off the wall thinking went into it.
Now then, that being said.... there's two ways to approach this custom job.
It could have been done nicer. Cleaned up a bit. Accessorized more(better). Just because one uses junk, doesn't mean the bike needs to look like junk.
                            On the other foot....
I like it in a Mad Max sort of way. Very creative use of what was lying about, or scroungeable. I like the tank.
Now, had he polished and painted.. this would be a unique, good looking bike.
He left it raw and ugly, (as a tribute to himself?)
One must not judge other's creative genius, unless one can truly understand what the vision was.

No theme, no grand plan... everything just cobbled together.
I wouldn't give a nickle for that bike.!

When I went to the MotoGuzzi National Rally a few years ago there was a guy who rode in on a rolling wreck.

It had dolls, bits and pieces of road refuse, memorabilia, all types of stickers from outrageous to just obscure, bits of fur and bones glued, wired and bolted to it, and two big ammo cans for saddlebags (in all their dented/rusted/OD glory).

The bike was in a carefully maintained state of decomposition.

But if you looked closely enough tho...it had about a bazillion miles on it and everything important was well maintained and functional.

That bike got more attention than the next 10 polished and perfect machines, no matter what model or year.

People all but lined up to photograph it, and some to be photographed with it.

The mountain man who rode it in from someplace in the Southwest to Saranac Lake NY was treated like a minor celebrity.

Not saying the XS were all talking about is in the same class, but look how many times this thread has been ressurected since it went on sale the first time!

It's probably getting the exact attention intended by it's maker.
