  • carb identification

    I have an XS 5N5 000656
i have rebiult and still going but now the carb is giving problems
from what i can see (South Africa)
it is an 81 RH model
the carb has no marking and i need to replace a jet and few things
I am trying to find what carb should be on the bike and what size jets etc should be in it..

at the moment someone has fiddled and the jets and things are mismatched

    many Thanks
    eric

What jets do you have? A pic of carbs might help incase someone swapped em. Not familure w/ RH, but if that is a special the #2-3 carbs are larger jets than 1-4 to keep them cooler. BUT I don't know about foreign models.
79 F full cruiser, stainless brake lines, spade fuses, Accel coils, modded air box w/larger velocity stacks, 750 FD.
    79 SF parts bike.

i got my hands on a secoundhand set and stripped them and outa the two i am still short

The jet is No 40 and 1 short i can get from the agents

still short two jet needle is marked SG1Z30 (slide needles)(452-14116-30)

one emulsion tube marked 323 (5k7-14941-02)

the latter two are now discontinued by the agents

        81 RH

        Is like our special.
        81 SH
        BS34 III carbs.
        Rubber tipped float needles

        stock jetting
        110 main
        pilot 42.5
        main air 140
        pilot air 185

        set float height at 23mm
manual shows using clear tubes attached to the float bowl drains to check fuel/float height. A hassel to do if not set up for it.
