    will 80 side covers fit 79

    Will 1980 side covers fit a 1979?

    I believe if they are from a 80 standard they will fit a 79 .My bike is a 80 special but have round holes for mounting.

      The topof the sidecovers are at a different angle. The 80's are more slanted, and match the bottom slant of the seat

        I don't think so. The left side had diff mounting holes and they are both shaped differently.

            cbradford: the answer is - you can't say for certain. The 1980 'G' was on the transition from slots to round holes, some bikes had a left cover with the 'new' round holes and a right cover with the 'old' slots'. See what you've got.
