    Hello to all,
    I am new to this group and also a new owner of a 1979 XS11, I purchased it for 150.00 it has 42000 miles on it and in good condition the owner did not ride he bought it to help out a friend so it sat in a garage for the last 5 years. I will post some pics later.

      Much better than sitting "out back" as a few have been stored.
      I've got one 79 special going on 15,000, another with over 50,000.
      Not sure how many on the 79 standard. (12,000 on the clock)Don't think odometer is original or it could be that it was one of the ones stored "out back"

              luckily, the 79f i just got was stored in the corner of they guys garage.
              1978 XS1100E , 1979 Special, 1980 XS11 Standard, 1978 & 79 XS750.

              2nd Gear is Waaayyyy Overrated !!

                    piggybacking onto this thread)

                    I, also, just took ownership of a 79 XS1100 SF that has changed hands more than a few times over the years. I've laready figured out some of what I need to do (continue to eliminate the octopus or put it back in...) and a few other minor things. I'll probably ask for some addtional help as well....most of which is decipehering what things are what with the diagrams i can pull from partswarehouse.com

                    But, overall, my signature says it all.

                          It would have to be in Oklahoma. You can't carry a mattress too far on a motorcycle. (sorry, I couldn't resist!)

                              Damn, I don't feel to bad. I only paid about 10 times as much for mine.
