Well how well did they fit? The pair of road king mufflers I have are too long to fit on an XS11 standard model.

It's too bad, I got them off eBay dirt cheap and they were like new. I tossed them when I was lightening my load when I moved last month.

Other than hold them up next to the bike, I haven't really had a chance to do much yet. I'm leaving for a little vacation tomorrow morning and have been slammed trying to get all my work finished up before heading for a little warmth. When you say they are to long, do you mean that they will not clear the rear axle? I was hoping that I could angle them out enough to go on either side of the axle. The other spot that looked close was at the foot peg bracket. Instead of the nice gradual taper on the stockers, the roadking mufflers are pretty much the same circumference for their entire length. I was toying around with popping in an adapter so that they would be even longer to give me a bit more room at this bracket. I found these pictures over at the old yahoo site. I believe the handle was stray bullet. I'm no expert on harley mufflers, but these look close to what I have and it looks like he got them to work somehow. So I think it's worth a try at least. Besides, I kind of like the look of the long mufflers. I just don't like scraping them on high curbs when I'm backing into a parking spot. I will definitely take some pictures and give an update if they work. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

          Back on topic!

Back to the patching of the holes. I hope that you purchased the chromed hole plugs. They are the only ones that will work with Hardley parts. It might also would help if could disable all but 3rd or fourth gear. Those mufflers will not be accustomed to even moderate acceleration. Maybe you could also fill your hardbags with concrete
