ok it looks like the swap will be pretty easy since the xj has a choke already like the kawa. the mount for the throttle seems to be pretty much in the same spot.
now for the kicker... i know it's supposed to squeeze right into the manifolds but mine may be too dry rotted??? they are very hard and not flexible. i got them lubed up a bit and i only worked at it for a second because i have to go somewhere here in a momento. do ya;; think they will fit or am i going to have to get new boots? hhmmmmm they are kinda pricey but i am going to try to soften them up.
also i think i need to heat them too because the bike is in my garage and it's about 40 in there if i get them good and hot they should stretch better theoretically right?
i can't wait it'll be running soon.
the carbs are in pretty good shape especially for 60 bucks! only problem was when he shipped it he didn't wrap the plug for the tps so it busted??? i'll have to get on to him. little does he know i don't need the tps. i might fab a block off plate and take it off if i can.
also for the xj does anyone recomend what to do with the two vac line coming off the carb? i am planning on putting the one from carb two onto the manifold #2 and the one between carb 3-4 i was planning on putting onto manifold 3 or 4??? also it didn't have caps on 1 and 4 from the back of the carbs should i cap those off?
any tips will be greatly apreciated! also i have already done several searches and am compiling my info for a good read so i can tackle this the right way the first time!
