  • Petcock assembly 1978e

got the rebuild kits and I want to do this right, I have a couple of questions.

one petcock has a "r" on it, im assuming its the right when sitting on the bike. The other not marked, in the photo do I have the correct lever for this side, so the prime works? and the diaphram has a small hole as well as the plate, does it matter how I install this?

              Hey MrWheelie,

You may already be back working on it, but the exploded diagram doesn't show that the O-ring goes around the petcock valve, you can see it on the handle/valve in your first picture!

The O-ring in your second photo looks rather large!?

The handle/valve fits flat against the 5 holed rubber washer/valve, no O-ring between it and the valve/handle!
