    head gasket

Hi fellas, new member here. I've been browsing this site for years and it has been great help to me. I bought the complete gasket kit from Partsnmore and I need to know if I should use any type of sealer on this head gasket. The gasket is a Victor-Reinz 1.20mm AFM 22. I'm used to using genuine Yamaha which needs no sealer. This one appears to be composition over metal. Block and head surfaces are smooth. This is on a 79F 73K mi. Replaced bent exhaust valve after timing chain failure. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to here. Use no sealer on head gaskets.

Remember, don't reuse the cam chain cavity guard/gasket. It's no longer needed

Thanks a lot guys. I kinda figured no sealant but I just wanted to make sure. I don't remember seeing a cam chain cavity gasket in there. I might have removed it the last time I had the head off in 1990. I'll put it all togeather this week. Thanks again.
