    National Cycle Heavy Duty Windshield?

Wondering if these can or can't fit our bikes -- specifically the XJ1100?

I found some on eBay, contacted National Cycle about mounting kits, and they said these won't fit ...

National Cycle -- Custom Heavy Duty Windshield - NC-N2220

    H: 19inch(48.2cm) Headlight to Top / W: 18-3/4inch. (47.5cm)

National Cycle's rugged, classic Heavy Duty™ Windshields are available in a variety of heights and styles to provide comfort and good looks. And they're made from our exclusive Quantum® hardcoated polycarbonate for unbeaten scratch resistance.

I have a National Cycle Plexifairing 3 on my 81 Special. It was easy to install and works great. Bob

Yep, I know that the Plexifairing III will work - was hoping that the Custom Heavy Duty would fit...

      Thanks for the reply.

If you check the applicability for XJ1100 you'll see that all the hardware kits they supply are to suit non-tubular handlebars only...

You need to cross-check the windshield you want with the non-tubular hardware kits to see if you have a chance of fitting it... If none of the 3 kits suit the windshield, then you would have to "manufacture" a fitting kit...

I got my windscreen for these guys. Great price, and quick shipping.

This is the actual one I got but they are having a sale on some that look a lot like the one you provided the link for above.

                  Hey LoHo,

Thanks for the follow-up. That's encouraging.

My challenge is a little greater, perhaps, with the XJ square handlebars, but I'd still like to try. That's always been my favorite windshield.

My rig doesn't involve the bars at all. The attachments are to the tripletree and fork mounts:

This mount has been improved since the tech tip was posted, and I have the means of taking pictures, which I couldn't then. I hereby authorize and MODs to add the pics to the tech post as they see fit.
