    remove Jardine baffles?

Do any of you know how to remove and replace Jardine Baffles? I have a set of 4 to 1's and the end cap came loose. I then drilled through the sides of the megaphone and into the end cap and rivoted it in three places. Subsequently, the rivots came apart, and I put bigger diameter rivots in it. It looks loose again! every time it loosens up, the bike runs poorly. I cant imagine this happening unless the baffles are loose. I am thinking that maybe the baffles are worn or loose inside. How do you get them out, and is there a way to replace them?

Using aluminum?.... try a steel rivet.
My Bassini 4/1 uses sheet metal screws, has yet to come loose.
