Hi Audi,
What is up with the one you have?
If it is for the Slingshots, you might want to try the GSXR forums for a damaged set; the slide and the part it shuts down onto can wear terminally on those, so there are junk ones wuith good bodies/butterflies around.......

when I was messin around with mine trying to mod them I tightened down the nut on the butterfly shaft too much and bent it. Then I had a hell of a time trying to get it out, so it is ruined. Thanks for the heads up about the forums. I'll check em out"Beware of any man that owns a pig farm"

Hi Audi,
If the throttle plate is bent, you can probably bring it back with some gentle tapping with it sitting on a big block....... an anvil; the back of a big vice, etc.
Just don't hit it hard enough to thin/stretch the metal....
If you need to tidy up the edges, be sure to not remove too much metal.
Put up a pic to make sure we are talking about the same part.......

Hi Audi,
We are talking about the same part; I still have not really figured out how you damaged it, but the damage would have to be pretty severe to make it not repairable......... Probably possible to wreck it while straightening it........
I managed to fit my carb bank without modding 'em; the "pairs" (1+2, and 3+4) were correctly spaced, but the gap between 2+3 was 10mm too big. I fitted number four fully into the boot and clamped it,with no3 as far in as I could get it. I then leaned on the side of no1. They all moved across far enough to let 1+2 pop into place. I clamped 'em up and they are fine! The stretch in the boots is only 5mm, and seems to cause no problems. The boots have now taken that shape permanently........
As I said before, good luck!

Mine must be a little different since they are off an 1100. I think you said yours were off a 750 right?? My two outer carbs when stock, stuck out past my head boots by about 1/2 inch on both sides. So I had to do a little trimming. On the butterfly shaft on the outside the carbs there are those pieces that connect all the butterflys together. the pieces with the sync screws. Well On # 2 there is a nut that goes on the end that holds on the piece that holds the sync screw. I was tightening that nut back on, which put pressure on the butterfly(against the carb throat) Causing it to bend. Yes I am a dummy. But that is some of themods I did and I didnt want that nut to back off since I had removed the lock washer. To much torque and it cause the plate to bend. And of course the bende side was on the inside of the carb. I tried to straighten it out as much as possible before pulling it back through the butterfly shaft. Any one who has reomved this knows it can be a little tricky with a straight one, try it when its bent. Well I finally had to use vice grips to pull it out. Scarred it up pretty bad but I will see what I can do with it. Just thought it would be an easy part to find and so far no luck."Beware of any man that owns a pig farm"
