    Sale Price: $345.00

I'd be looking for a good parts bike that has a good exhaust.
    Can always paint one yourself.

Then agin if you like 4 into 1....
Don't care much for the canister.
If you do a search for MAXIMAN he put up a pic at one time with such an exhaust. Preformed well but just didn't seem to belong on his XJ.

That ad said it came with chrome or brushed black canister... But yeah, you can eventually find a good used bike with the pipes you want on it for probably not too much more. Seems I remember someone saying they knew a place that would powder coat the pipes for a couple hundred??

              MAC

I also like the chrome MAC 4-2 but im leery of quality. (blueing) The Jardine mufflers that hook up to stock head pipes also caught my eye, just cant find any(e-bay)

                Hey Switz,

Someone recently posted info about the Jet Hot coating process, and their web site showed a couple of newer chrome type colored coatings that would provide better sealing of your Mac chrome pipes, better heat transfer thru the pipes, and preserve them as well, that way you could get your 4-2 style you want and not worry about the inevitable blueing! JAT!

                      Hey Switz,

Here's the pipes you were looking at,

I had found some photos of DennyZ's machine, but after posting them I could see that Jardine changed the design of these pipes. The old style was with the pipes crossing beneath the oil filter chamber! BUT the ones you found do NOT cross, they keep the 1-2 and 3-4 pipes together and keep them separated down around the engine and oil filter cup area and then run to the collector!
                      http://home.comcast.net/~denny.zande...freshpipes.JPG

This design isn't as balanced as their previous crossing design as to the scavenging of the exhaust pulses, but they are just like the old set of Mac styled 4-1 pipes I got from JCW some 15+ years ago. If you look at the photos sections, you'll see some bikes with the black 4-1 pipes mounted, but they all use the standard flared megaphone type muffler, not the cylindrical canister. The one above does appear to have a modest flare to the muffler.
