    Hi Stewart,

Wish you were a bit closer!

If you are serious about selling, put up a couple of pics; If not, describe the issues, and I am sure we can help you fix 'em and get back riding!

        xs1100 for sale.

Will try and photo unit today monday.
Problems as I can see are. I am NOT technology minded.
        1 Battery needs replacement.
Lights, indicator did work but I think it could be the starter motor.
When i travel more than 80 kph it cuts back. Flick the key back and forth ad it reboots.
Getting frustrated with it more off road than on. I live in Gawler south South Australia and you are more than welcome to look at it.
        thanking you

          Hey Steward,

You're about to throw out a good machine for a fairly simple fix! If you'll go to the tech tips and look at the Pickup Coil wire fix, you'll find what you need to know to fix it. When the engine gets to a certain rpm/speed, the timing advance plate rotates, flexing the pickup coil wires, and when they are worn, they can break connection causing the engine to faulter. Turning the key off and back on just kills the engine, allowing it to slow down, flexing the wires less allowing them to remake connection and start firing again.

Of course, you could also have a faulty main ignition switch, also can be replaced, or even just disassembled, folks have found loose wires that just needed resoldering!

Many folks on here are/were not mechanics or electricians, but were able to fix their machines with help!! Don't sell yourself so short!
