    Hey Barry,

IF you're talking about WIRE SPOKED wheels, since ours are already cast aluminum spoked , then the 650's front should work. AudiJunky put them on his bike, IIRC, but he also put on a modded chain drive and different rear wheel! Can't help with the rear! And I haven't reviewed the fiche, so I can't remember IF the 650's spoked wheels are DRUM or disc, or IF it only has 1 rotor instead of 2!?

      Hi there,

Yes it can be done but the road is long and hard and very expensive..

As TC said, the front hub comes from a XS650, the rear hub has to come from a GX750 which was only ever sold in Japan/NZ (and only 200 of them).

Your only chance to find a rear hub is to search the Japanese auctions and then find someone to bid for you and ship it to you.

I have €1000 invested in the rear wheel alone

You can read how I did it in these two threads BIKE and REAR WHEEL

Still want to put spokes on...

Front is easy, back is a bitch.

            Hi Scappod,
the 7-spoke cast XS650 front wheel is identical to the XS11's. All of the 3 different XS650 disk brake wire wheels will also plug straight in.
Note to TC:- while North American XS650s only had one disk every other countries XS650s had two and the hubs are all tapped both sides to bolt the other disk on, just pull out the plastic blanking ring.
There's no quick'n'cheap plug-in rear wire wheel that I'm aware of. (well, there's the swirly-mags but that's a whole other aesthetic) You gotta spend a fortune.
Go with Shapper's GX750 hub fix or get a spare stock rear, saw the spokes off, turn the hub smooth with two registers to TIG-weld spoke-rings on to lace on the rim of your choice.
Or, go with the laced front & solid rear look?
Several guys do solid disc rear conversions, mostly for the specialized needs of sidecarists, but they'll do yours too for ~$500. How about a faux solid? Two spun aluminum cones should do that and you can always take them off again if you change your mind.
