Will the unit off a 1980 XS850 fit my 1979 1100 Special?

I've read that folks have used the rotors, but it appears the calipers are not the same, however there could be just minor variations to the entire assembly that would cause Yamaha to give it a different #, but I also checked the caliper pads sets and they take different pads as well!?
Perhaps someone with an 850 can chime in?

I had replaced my XS1100F rear brake caliper with a 1977 XS750D caliper. It fit fairly well but the brake dragged a little. I found that by shimming it I was able to align it with the rotor for a proper fit.
