new exhaust system

Hello,
About 10 minutes ago, i spoke with Chris at Spiegler Brake Systems USA, LLC. in Dayton, Ohio.
They Do NOT carry any japanese bike exhausts, and will not order them. They only carry BMW stuff. I asked him if he knew of another dealer in the USA. He said they were looking for a new US distributor and he does not know if they found one yet. If anyone finds out about any other US Dealers for Laser / Marshall Depptone, please let me know

I have a '79 with a Jardine 4into1 on my bike now. It has been there for quite a few years, you can drop the oil filter and drain the oil without taking off the exhaust. It sounds pretty good too after you take the baffle out and open it up...and drill some holes around the outside.. Not sure if they make a set specifically for the Midnight Special, but it could'nt hurt to check. Good luck.

Which baffle, the one inside or the one on the end of the pipe? If the internal one, how did you get it out?

There is a screw at the bottom rear that holds the baffle into place. This exhaust fit purty good but it is quiet out of the box. I took a long rod and just hammered it through, put it back in but it was still not the sound I wanted. The next thing I did was drill 6 holes around the cone of the baffle and that seemed to work. Gave me a nice deeper tone......not too loud, (alot quieter than open header) but alot louder than the stock header. Hope this helps.
