I needed an airbox for my XS, and I just got one on Ebay for $5.50 + shipping!!!

Good deal, as long as shipping wasn't toooo much. If you have 78-79 carbs and the air box is 80-81 you will need to drill a hole through the nipples that go to the vent tubes on carbs. If not that combo....never mind!!
79 F full cruiser, stainless brake lines, spade fuses, Accel coils, modded air box w/larger velocity stacks, 750 FD.
    79 SF parts bike.

Uh-oh, it is an '81 bike it's going on and a '79 box. So what will I have to do to use the box on my bike?

Just plug the two smaller nipples at the top of the box with RTV or something.

I don't have a problem pulling carbs, and in fact they are currently pulled so I could give them a complete and comprehensive cleaning.

I will tell you however, that anyone who had to pull carbs off of my KZ750, would hate doing that. The XS carbs are a piece of cake by comparison.
