  • Powder coating

Has anyone tried to powder coat their carb bodies ? Is it worth the trouble ? I have a set that I plan on rebuilding and was just thinking about dressing them up with paint?

While I am at it is there any major differences in 79 compared to 80 carbs? Can carbs off a 79 special work on a 80 special?

    Hey Tinman,

    **Editted your thread**
Powder coating requires baking them in an oven for a while to cure the paint/plastic coating. Also there are so many orifices and such that would be difficult to seal up. Folks have PAINTED their carbs, much more foregiving process, and easier to clean/remove from unwanted areas vs. the baked on powder coating!? I'm sure a search for "paint carbs" would reveal several threads, one by Randy who used some very fancy stuff on his for a great look!
