    Hey Sandy,

Frank has all the specs, they are fairly standard, but if you want some custom length, then you would want to state so. A few of us have had overstock sizes made, 4" and even 6" .

      forks

I phoned to-day and they asked me if they had air holes in them.
it is a xj1100j and the front forks are air.
so my thought is yes there is holes.
any thoughts on this before i order them.
thanks for taking the time to help me

        Hey Sandy,

My 81SH also had air front forks, but the "HOLES" are in the fork caps, not the fork tubes themselves! However, I'm no XJ expert, so perhaps someone with one that has replaced their fork seals can comment on whether there is any variation in it's design vs. the XS11's, but I don't think there is!?

sANDY AND t.c. THERE IS A SMALL (1/16" DIA) HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE TUBE AND GOES BETWEEN THE TWO o RINGS INSIDE THE TOP tREE CLAMP. The clamp has a hose that connects both sides and an air valve for inflating. The hole must be in the side of the tube in order to fill the shocks.

            forks

do I have to tell him this before I order them so he can drill the holes for me,or do I do that myself.
Heck I should just take them off myself. They have to come off anyway athen I can see for myself.
Any advice to taking them off?
I have the original manual>any secrets?

Tell him first but check yours also. Jack up the front. Bleed the air out of the shocks. Remove front tire and calipers. Loosen pinch bolts and remove shocks. Drain oil. Check thread on installing/repairing front shocks. This would be a good time to check the triple tree bearings, re lube etc. Good luck.

                fork tubes

so it is my understanding that there is one hole 1/16"in each of the tubes.
i want to order them as soon as possible.
our dollar is now worth 1.06$
I can't get out right now to get the tubes off.
                thx
