    There is law. Anything 2-stroke manufactured after the law was passed is not street legal. However, bikes like the RD350 that were manufactured before the legislation are grandfathered in and still street legal.

      EGR works also on a different mechanism, the by-products of the burning process help to keep the circulated process more stabile and cooler. This helps to keep the engine more efficient but makes a mess of the intake system after a while.

        Not sure how it would keep the system cooler. It actually preheats your intake mainfold by running exhaust through it.

        They do only work for a while before they plug up, so by the time anyone notices and removes them, they weren't working anyway.

        Ok, so now we all know our emission controls, what did water injection do?
