carb jet ordering size??

ok to make it qwik... i have 82 carbs with no jets. i went to mikes xs page and they have the small 112.5 jets... but it says those are for the throat of the carb not the ones that go sdon in the bowl. will these work in the bowl for my 82 xj1100 they didn't have the large type in the 112.5 they did however have the 115 size. so which one to order. i have no way of knowing what the stock jets look like for the xj. also the piklot jet is a 47.5... they have this and they have a 50. i looked at a dirtbike jet site and they sugested going up a size in the pilot for colder weather starting ease. i love to ride all year so can i order the 50 with minimal problems? i have really got to order somethin g so i can get this bike on the road it's been in my garage for two months collectiung dust...

I might have a set of 112.5's in my carb box. You should be able to order the large style from Cycle-Re-Cycle. for a dollar more.

Hey Chris,

You're listing the stock sized jets for the XJ carbs, but you forgot to mention that you have some intake and exhausts mods on your machine....IIRC...pods and 4-1 pipes! SO...that would probably mean you'll need to bump up the mains a few sizes anyways, possibly to 117.5 or even 120's. There was a megathread where a fellow with STOCK intake/exhaust went up to 132 mains and still have fairly white looking sparkplugs!

The stock sized Pilots may be enough with some extra turns out of the pilot screws, but you might also do well with the larger pilots! But ease of cold weather starting will be more with the use of the enrichener circuit which doesn't allow jet changes...pressed in to the float bowls!

Going up a size in pilot has made a noticeable gain in the way my bike runs. I would recommend trying it.

tc... sorry i wish i had the mods you talked about except for the pods. they are horrbile to tune for. i have a stock bike... in several pats... so i should go up to the the 50's in the pilots and order the big 112.5's from the other place and also are the 170's in the throat the small ones?

sorry i just tried to order the main jets from that recycle place and the 112.5's are the small size just like the xs site??? if anyone wants to sell their's i'd like it alot... also they don't have the pilots either.

ah... i found the mikuni site they have the large round 112's but they are 5 bucks a peice... i also do have the 185 small jets that go in the throat on the 80 or 81 carbs... would these work on my 82? i know they will fit but what would that do to my fuel are ratio???

that's where i went but when you add them to the cart it says they are the small jets??? not the large round ones.
